Meet Amanda

My name is Amanda and I’d like to welcome you to my world. 

I’m a mom of two amazing girls, ages 19 and 22. My heart dog who has been by my side for 15 years passed away in my arms on May 8th, 2024. He has been my best friend as I work every day on with Crafted on Canvas. His sister, Ginny, is a 1yo frenchie and she has been helping keep joy in the house as we grieve. My family is my biggest supporter in chasing my dream.

My love for the arts goes back to my childhood. I’m mostly self-taught with a few classes I took in college. I love to pick up a brush, start with a line, and see where it takes me. In some ways I’m old-school with a pen, brush, paints, canvas, and more… creating a handcrafted hardcopy. 

In our ever-changing world with technology I’ve watched so many things evolve including the art world. People still paint, draw, and create but many have traveled to the digital world and have taken their talents to make beautiful masterpieces all through a computer. I have wondered how I can merge my old school way with the ever changing digital world. 

Over the last few years communication and how I shared/used my words became very powerful in my own life and from that the use of my handcrafted art moved digitally into greeting cards. As I began sharing my struggles and triumphs and continued creating greeting cards, my store, Crafted on Canvas, found its place. With the help of a funny little chicken others found ways to share words of encouragement and love to those in their life. As we’ve entered 2024 we continue to grow.
